What is Shutterfly?
Photographs are a great way to tell stories of what is important to us without having to use words. Photographs allow us to capture memories and leave a legacy for our future generations. Shutterfly is one great application that makes the agitated task of sorting and arranging photos much easier.
Shutterfly allows users to sort and filter photos according to different categories. Moreover, using Shutterfly, users can also tag their friends and family members in the photographs. Not just this, but Shutterfly has a highly creative side too. Through Shutterfly, people can turn photographs into unique photo frames, ornaments, calendars, and much more!
However, not everyone is fond of the idea of storing their personal photographs online. This could be because they did not like Shutterfly as much as they thought they would or maybe just because they have privacy concerns. If you are also someone who wishes to get rid of their Shutterfly account, we are here to help you!
Deleting Shutterfly Account
Unfortunately, so far, there is no automatic and direct way to immediately delete your Shutterfly account. However, you can still do so by contacting their customer support team.
Once you get in touch with them, you will probably have to explain to them why you wish to close your account. Don’t worry. This is only for them to understand user behaviours and improve their services. Your reason would not really have an effect on whether they will agree to close your account or not.
Additionally, they will ask you for your registered billing address and if applicable, previous order numbers. You can contact the customer care team by one of these methods:
- Send an email at customerservice@cs.shutterfly.com using the email address associated with your Shutterfly account.
- Send them a message via their online Help Center here.
- Start a live chat with one of their representatives via their official website.
Generally, the process is quite simple.
Backing Up Photos
If you are deleting your Shutterfly account, do not forget to back up all your precious photographs before doing so! The easiest way to backup all your photos is via the My Photos section of Shutterfly.
Users can download full-resolution images from Shutterfly either individually or up to 500 at once (in a zipped folder). Once downloaded, they can be extracted using any software application like WinRar. The batch download option is not available for mobile applications though. The best part is that none of it costs anything!
Later, if you wish, you can also move your photographs to a cloud storage service like Google Drive.
Deleting Duplicate Photos
If you are worried about the presence of duplicate or similar-looking photos in your account, you can transfer the photos data into your PC and conduct a scan via the duplicate hunting beast, PictureEcho and get rid of duplicate photos in Shutterfly.
