- Full screen: You can grab the entire region of your computer screen.
- Window: You can grab a screenshot of an active window on the screen.
- Region: Here, you can specify the portion of the screen area you want to capture.
- Scrolling Capture: This is a preferable option to grab websites, PDFs and other scrolling content. Using this feature, you can grab scrolling objects into a single picture.
- Screen Recorder: You can record the activities on your screen in the form of a video file.

Snipping Tool (Free)
The Snipping Tool comes preinstalled with Windows 11. It is easiest to use, has an intuitive user interface and offers multiple capturing options. It replaces the classic Snip & Sketch tool in Windows.
Since the Snipping Tool is already preinstalled, there’s no additional step you need to do. Just click on Start, type Snipping Tool and open it from the search results.
With the Snipping Tool, you can grab the entire screen, rectangular portion, active window, or select a custom portion using the free-form mode. There’s also a feature to automatically grab after a specific time period (such as a few seconds).
Snipping Tool has a major limitation though. Unlike other tools mentioned above, there’s no way to record a video of your screen activities (especially gaming sessions).
