Step 1
The first step you need to take is to download PictureEcho and install it. It is a light software that takes a few seconds to install and features a user-friendly interface. Once you have installed the program, launch it. Upon launching it, you will come across the main interface of Picture Echo as seen in the screenshot below. PictureEcho offers several other features than deleting duplicating photos.

Since you intend to clean empty folders using PictureEcho, you will need to select Clean Empty Folders from the options. As soon as you click on the option, a new window will pop-up. Click the Launch Service button for PictureEcho to direct you to another window.
Step 3
Now that the service is launched, you will need to add a path which needs to be searched for empty folders. While PictureEcho deletes empty folders, it will also delete empty directories and show the list in the Deleted Directories tab. As you can see, PictureEcho successfully managed to delete 23 empty folders.
Step 4
Once you have added the path, click the Delete Empty Folders button. PictureEcho will take a few moments to delete the folders and then notify you by displaying a message below. Visit the directories tab to check a list of the directories that have been purged.

PictureEcho offers its users two options when it comes to dealing with photos, namely Exact Match and Similar Match. In the case of Similar Match, users can also use the Similarity Threshold allowing them to adjust how similar images should be located.
Now that the duplicates have been scanned, PictureEcho will display a list of the duplicate images with their titles, size and location. Select the duplicates you wish to delete manually and click Select Action. Choosing Permanently Delete is going to delete the duplicates while the Move to Folder option will shift them to another location.
