Adobe Animate Duplicate Photos

The Flash format has changed the way video games and multimedia content is delivered on the Internet. Adobe Animate CC, earlier known as Flash Pro, has been a kingmaker that produced many popular video games and animated content that plays anywhere regardless of the device.

Adobe Animate supports importing content from other Adobe-family products such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Fireworks. Adobe has built its scripting language called Action Script to produce rich and dynamic content.

With newer versions, Adobe has added new features such as motion editor, interpolation of outlines, WebGL to help you get started quickly and easily.

Duplicate Photos

Duplicate photos can occur due to a variety of reasons. Simple activities like transferring photos from your digital camera to the PC causes duplication. Downloading the same photos from the Internet, backing up your assets before processing are some of the common reasons.

Here are possible issues caused due to growing number of duplicate photos:

Data Retrieval Issues: Duplicate photos are usually scattered across multiple locations. Having too many duplicate files can cause problems retrieving the original files.

Slowed Windows Search: Searching your photos with Windows Search can become difficult and time-consuming. You’ll come across multiple redundant file entries while searching.

Performance issues: Windows Search takes more time to index your files. Although this process runs in the background, it impacts your computer performance.

Low Storage Space: Duplicate photos can eat up GBs of storage. At some point in time, your computer runs into low storage space and you’ll need to delete your files to make room for new files.

Slowed back-ups: Backing up and restoring your photos will take more time than usual. Due to a large number of duplicate files, your backups will be larger.

How to Fix Duplicate Photos?

Windows has no in-house functionality to identify and remove duplicate photos. A third-party software PictureEcho could be a great help.

PictureEcho lets you search your photos for duplicates and organize them in a proper directory structure. As PictureEcho uses intelligent scan algorithms to compare your files, you can rest assured about the accuracy.  PE will group your photos into multiple groups and display a thumbnail to make reviewing them easier.

PictureEcho comes with plenty of file selection mechanisms to automatically select duplicates in the group without going through each file.

PictureEcho comes with different similarity levels to help you customize the scan even further. For example, using the Exact Match similarity criteria, PE will only scan byte-to-byte identical files. Using Similar Match criteria, PE will find visually similar images so that you can free up maximum storage space and get back precious memory.

Automatic Selection Patterns:

  • Mark by high/ low resolution: Specify whether you want to retain higher resolution files with better quality, or retain lower resolution files with a relatively lower quality.
  • Mark larger or smaller files: Use this option to choose whether to select larger-sized files to free up maximum space or smaller sized files to free up relatively lesser space.
  • Mark most modified/ least modified files: Specify whether you want to retain the most modified files that are recent, or retain less modified files that are relatively older versions.

Mark by location: Use this option to select files inside a specific directory or drive. For example, select only those files that are located in the D:\MyFiles folder.
