If you’re into Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Adobe Dreamweaver can be a great help as it allows you to add metadata, meta title, description, and keywords directly into the contents of your pages. You can also define other parameters to make your client’s website appear on top of the Search Engine Results Page (SERP).
Dreamweaver Duplicates
Almost every Dreamweaver user who keeps archive of his projects, faces the problem of duplication of files. Imagine you’ve downloaded the same files and photos twice, it results into unwanted duplication. Or, in another case, you created a temporary backup of your existing Dreamweaver projects and then forget to delete them later. Over time, these files occupy a significant portion of your disk space and a total cleanup is required to speed up your PC and free-up lost memory.
Here’s the simplified procedure:
- Download PictureEcho and install it on your computer.
- Select the Add Path option and specify the folder that you want to scan
- You can add multiple folders
- Select a similarity criteria to define the types of images you want to search for. The program supports following similarity criteria:
- Similar Match: If you’re a freelance photo editor, this can turn out to be an incredible feature. Photo manipulation and constant editing causes a lot of duplication. You may find dozens of copies of the same photo with basic edits such as 90/ 180 degree rotations, image compression, change in width-height ratio, etc. It is not possible to manually identify such files on a large scale. This is where PictureEcho comes into play. Its intelligent search algorithms help you find duplicate copies even when the original image is slightly modified, bit recoloured or rotated. With just a single mouse click, you can differentiate newer and older versions from each other.
- Exact Match: This displays only those files that contain only absolute identical content. Even if two files contain the slightest alterations, they will not be marked as duplicates and omitted from the scan results.
The advantage of this approach is it involves lesser amount of risk contrary to the Similar Match where there is a greater need to review each file before proceeding to delete it.
- Now, click on Start Search. The scan results will appear with basic details about each file in addition to the image thumbnail.
- You can directly load an image straight from the program, copy the image path to your Clipboard.
- You can review the result yourself, check-up files that you want to remove/ move, or even better use the automatic selection assistant feature.
- Simply clicking on the Select Duplicates button, and choose one of the following selection criteria:
- Retain Newest or Oldest Images: You will find these options extremely beneficial if you’re editing your photographs on a frequent basis. If you have worked upon multiple instances of the same photograph, use this selection criteria to batch select a version of file that you want to retain.
- Select by location: If you’re a regular traveler and traveling to the remote places of the world, your photographs might have been organized in different folders with the titles depicting name of the location. Use this option to batch select files by their folder path, such as, C:\Users\XYZ\Pictures\WashingtonDC
- Retain Low or High Resolution: Image resolutions are an integer part of photo manipulation. Photos with higher resolutions tend to have better quality, however they take larger amount of storage space. On the other hand, low resolution photo take smaller space but compromise the quality of the image in terms of pixels. Use this option to eliminate smaller/ bigger versions of your photos if you intend to save storage space.
- Deselect All: Use this option to reset your previous selection criteria and clear all the check items.
- Finally, click on Select Action and choose whether you want to move your duplicate pictures to a new location on your hard disk, or permanently delete them altogether.
