Verizon Cloud is the cellular carrier’s own offering that provides a competitive cloud storage platform for mobile users. Although it is more geared towards Android smartphones and iOS-based iPhone, users can still access their photos and other files from a web browser on PC or Mac.<\/span><\/p>\n

Verizon allows users to store a considerable number of files onto the cloud and access them. You can work from home or office with up-to-date information without having to carry a physical storage drive. Verizon makes all your cloud data accessible across the globe simply at the stroke of a few mouse clicks.<\/span><\/p>\n

With Verizon Cloud, you will enjoy complete control over your stuff with the ability to schedule items for regular backups (contacts, call logs, SMS, photos, videos, notes, etc). Just specify a date-time for automatic backup and Verizon will do the job for you. As backup can consume a considerable amount of bandwidth, a Wi-Fi connection is strongly advised. You can set it to run at a specific hour every day, or once or twice on a weekly basis. Verizon Cloud\u2019s automatic sync ensures that even if your phone gets\u00a0 bricked (or simply speaking, dead), you would still be able to restore your data to exactly the same state within minutes of getting a new phone. You will find all the same contacts, photos collection, videos and other stuff on your new phone as soon as it has been synced.<\/span><\/p>\n

You can even use the Photos app to order image prints and gifts. You can add fun stickers, emojis and convert your photo collection into a nice-looking collage. Weekly Flashback is yet another great feature that displays your old photos on an occasional basis. Alongside, Verizon lets you use a large chunk of filters and background music to build memorable video stories and relive your old memories. Using an in-house streaming feature, you can beam them to your large television screen to watch together with your family.<\/span><\/p>\n

There are some drawbacks as well. Verizon offers a gigantic 30-day trial of 500 GB for absolutely no cost, for new customers. The upgrade too is bit costlier than other platforms. A Verizon sign-in is mandatory in order to access your documents and files. You must download all your data from the cloud before switching to another carrier.<\/span><\/p>\n

Low Storage Problem As You Accumulate Large Chunk of Duplicate Photos<\/b><\/h2>\n

We know that organizing your photos can sometimes prove a little tricky. As your photo collection on Verizon expands in size, you will have to spend more time searching for the right file. Needless to mention, you\u2019ll find yourself in constant low storage situations and will be unwillingly forced to spend money to increase your storage quota.<\/span><\/p>\n

There are two methods by which you can identify duplicate photos stored on the cloud. In both of the procedures, it is essential that you download the content prior to running a duplicate scan. This might take a while depending on your data size.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Method 1: Using File Explorer<\/b><\/h3>\n

First, we get to the manual way to identify duplicates. This involves downloading all photos from your Verizon Cloud account and then sorting them in ascending order in the File Explorer. The steps are as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Visit the Verizon official website and login to your account.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Click the Account icon on the top-right, and select Verizon Cloud.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Click the Photos & Videos tab.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Verizon will display thumbnails of all music and video files in your cloud account. Use the checkbox on the top-left of each image to select the file.<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. After selecting all the photos, click the Download icon on the toolbar.<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. You’ll be prompted to confirm the action. Click OK.<\/span><\/li>\n
  7. Wait for the download to be over. This might take anywhere from several minutes to several hours depending on the size of your files and your Internet speed.<\/span><\/li>\n
  8. Once the download is over, open up the Downloads folder (or the folder where you just downloaded your Verizon data).<\/span><\/li>\n
  9. Click the View tab on the Ribbon interface.<\/span><\/li>\n
  10. Set the Layout to List or Details depending on your preference.<\/span><\/li>\n
  11. Click on Sort by, followed by Name.<\/span><\/li>\n
  12. Click Sort by again, and choose Ascending.<\/span><\/li>\n
  13. The files will be rearranged and sorted in ascending (alphabetical) manner.<\/span><\/li>\n
  14. It is now much easier to identify duplicates. Original filenames can be easily distinguished from cloned copies with prefixes and postfixes.<\/span><\/li>\n
  15. Delete all photos from your Verizon account and re-upload the de-duplicated files.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Drawbacks:<\/b><\/p>\n

    Some of the drawbacks of manually finding duplicates are as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Long and tedious task. If you have tens of GBs of data, be ready to spend several hours simply looking for duplicates.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Lack of accuracy: Multiple files can have the same names yet different content. Comparing files by their name cannot be relied upon to distinguish files. To avoid accidental data loss, it is important to open each image separately.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Your photos might be scattered across different sub-folders instead of a single folder.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Method 2: Using Algorithm-based Tool (Quicker, Faster & Secure)<\/b><\/h3>\n

      The easiest way to identify duplicates is to employ an automatic duplicate scanning software. PictureEcho, an algorithm-based powerful duplicate finder, does this job without much effort. The biggest advantage of using PictureEcho is that it\u2019s faster and secure. The process can be broadly classified into seven steps:<\/span><\/p>\n

      1. Download all photos from Verizon, if you already haven\u2019t. (Follow steps # 1 through 7 of Method 1).<\/span><\/li>\n
      2. Use the Add Path button on the left to select the target directory or multiple directories that contain your Verizon photos.<\/span><\/li>\n
      3. Specify a Similarity Criteria between Exact Match and Similar Match and start the scan. The ideal difference between Exact Match and Similar Match is their ability to distinguish images. Exact Match checks each image pixel to pixel. Similar Match helps look for images that might be very similar to each other, but can\u2019t be called exact duplicates.<\/span><\/li>\n
      4. Click Start Search and wait for some time.<\/span><\/li>\n
      5. Now that you\u2019ve got the scan results, use the automatic selection patterns to mark\/ unmark files. Marked files are processed (deleted\/ moved depending on the user\u2019s choice), and unmarked files are retained unharmed.<\/span><\/li>\n
      6. After selecting the files, you will select the final action through the Select Action button.<\/span><\/li>\n
      7. Now delete all the photos from the cloud and upload all the de-duplicated photos.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Some of the distinct features of PictureEcho are as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n

        • Large image thumbnail makes it pretty easy to compare and review results.<\/span><\/li>\n
        • In-house preview eliminates the need to open each image. You can view image previews and compare results without opening the file.<\/span><\/li>\n
        • A large chunk of file selection patterns- Small images in each group, large images in each group, low resolution images in each group, high resolution images in each group, newest images in each group, oldest images in each group, image by location, etc.<\/span><\/li>\n
        • Flexibility (For Similar Match ONLY: Customize the similarity levels to your choice. Level 1, 2, 3 are timespan-based similarity levels that allow you to determine what timespan to take into consideration. On the contrary, Level 4 is NOT a timespan-based level and requires greater attention from the user.<\/span><\/li>\n
        • You can change the program settings to alter the extensions list. Just go to Settings > Included Extensions > Exact Match.<\/span><\/li>\n
        • By default, the program excludes your critical operating system folders to prevent accidental data loss. This includes the Windows, Program Files, Program Data, AppData and other directories.<\/span><\/li>\n
