You must have definitely seen people doing amazing things with their photos. We\u2019ve put together a few tips & tricks in this blog post to help you change the look and feel of your photos without any technical proficiency required at all.<\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>Photos <\/b>app in <\/span>Windows 10<\/b> may not be as powerful as <\/span>Adobe Photoshop<\/b>, but it\u2019s extremely easy to use and friendly for beginners and those outside the creative industry. It does a lot more than merely displaying and slide showing your photos. It features a whole set of <\/span>basic image editing <\/b>controls to alter your images in a skillful manner without damaging the original photo file.<\/span><\/p>\n

Let\u2019s take a look at some super cool features you can use with the Photos app we bet you didn\u2019t know about before.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Tip # 1: Fix Red Eyes & Distortions<\/b><\/h2>\n

The problem of <\/span>red eyes <\/b>is not uncommon in photography. A <\/span>brighter light <\/b>source or a <\/span>camera flash <\/b>can distort an otherwise excellent photograph. Fix red eyes to avoid regrets and keep the cherished moments in your life alive forever.<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Right-click an image that you want to edit.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Select <\/span>Open with | Photos<\/b>.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. In the Photos app, click on <\/span>Get creative with this photo<\/b> and select <\/span>Edit<\/b>.

  4. Now select the <\/span>Adjustments <\/b>tab.<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Look for the <\/span>Red eye<\/b> button on the right-hand side panel. Click it and you will notice the mouse pointer turn into a bluish circle.<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. Move the pointer to the spot where you want to remove Red eyes and click the exact spot.<\/span><\/li>\n
  7. Next, move the <\/span>Clarity <\/b>slider to the right\/ left to adjust your picture\u2019s quality.

  8. Finally, save the edited version of your photo by clicking the <\/span>Save a copy <\/b>button. Specify a name for your new file.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Tip # 2: Experiment With Different Color Shades<\/b><\/h2>\n

    An <\/span>image filter<\/b> helps you change the <\/span>shades<\/b> and <\/span>colors<\/b> of the image pixels. It automatically adjusts the <\/span>brightness<\/b> and <\/span>contrast<\/b> depending on the theme of the image. You can choose different picture filters from a choice of 15 options.<\/span><\/p>\n

    1. Open an image in the <\/span>Photos <\/b>app for editing.<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. Select the <\/span>Filters <\/b>tab.<\/span>
      \n<\/span><\/li>\n
    3. Choose your preferred <\/span>photo filter <\/b>from the options given on the right-hand side panel. For example\u00a0<\/span>Sauna<\/b>, <\/span>Neo<\/b>, <\/span>Slate<\/b>, <\/span>Rouge<\/b>, <\/span>Sun Screen<\/b>, <\/span>Lacrus<\/b>, and so on.<\/span>
      \n<\/span>In this tutorial, we\u2019ve selected the <\/span>Sunscreen <\/b>filter. Your image should look like this:

    4. Save the changes.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Note:<\/i><\/b><\/span> To revert the original photo filter, click on <\/span>Original<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Tip # 3: Crop Unneeded\/ Outer Portion<\/b><\/h2>\n

      Cropping<\/b> will help you fine-tune the outer areas and do away with any unneeded portions of your photo.<\/span><\/p>\n

      You can use the crop tool to <\/span>manipulate<\/b> an image and change the <\/span>Aspect ratio<\/b>. You can turn a <\/span>portrait image<\/b> into a <\/span>square<\/b>, a <\/span>square<\/b> graphics into a <\/span>vertical image<\/b>, and vice versa. The <\/span>1:1<\/b> Aspect ratio indicates that the height and width of an image are the same.<\/span><\/p>\n

      There are over a dozen Aspect ratios for you to choose from. Which ones should you choose?<\/span><\/p>\n

      It all depends on your requirements.<\/span><\/p>\n

      The Aspect ratio for different devices vary. Here are our recommendations:<\/span><\/p>\n

        \n
      • Smartphones: <\/span>16:9<\/b><\/li>\n
      • Standard television sets: <\/span>4:3<\/b><\/li>\n
      • High definition television sets (<\/span>HDTV<\/b>s): <\/span>16:9<\/b><\/li>\n
      • Projectors: <\/span>4:3<\/b><\/li>\n
      • iPads: <\/span>4:3<\/b><\/li>\n
      • Tablets: <\/span>16:10<\/b> or <\/span>4:3<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        You can set the new Aspect ratio as under:<\/span><\/p>\n

          \n
        1. Open your photo in the <\/span>Photos <\/b>app for editing.<\/span><\/li>\n
        2. Click on the <\/span>Crop & rotate <\/b>tab.<\/span>
          \n<\/span><\/li>\n
        3. Click the <\/span>Aspect ratio<\/b> drop-down box on the right-hand side panel.<\/span><\/li>\n
        4. Now choose your preferred Aspect ratio. For example <\/span>Square<\/b>, <\/span>Widescreen – 16.9<\/b>, <\/span>4:3<\/b>, <\/span>7:5<\/b> or <\/span>10:8<\/b>.

          Tip # 4: Use Optimum Image Resolution<\/b><\/h2>\n

          This tip is very helpful if you are planning to publish your image on social media<\/span> platforms such as <\/span>Instagram<\/b>, <\/span>Facebook<\/b>, <\/span>Twitter<\/b>, <\/span>WhatsApp<\/b>, <\/span>Pinterest<\/b>, <\/span>SnapChat<\/b>, etc. Choosing the right image size and resolution is important to improve the user’s engagement rate.<\/span><\/p>\n

          Different <\/span>social media platforms <\/b>have different size recommendations.<\/span><\/p>\n

          • Instagram: <\/span>1080*1350 pixels<\/b><\/li>\n
          • Facebook: <\/span>1200*630 pixels<\/b><\/li>\n
          • Twitter: <\/span>1024*512 pixels<\/b><\/li>\n
          • WhatsApp: <\/span>800*800 pixels<\/b><\/li>\n
          • Pinterest: <\/span>735*1102 pixels<\/b><\/li>\n
          • SnapChat: <\/span>750*1334 pixels<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            Tip # 5: Optimize the Image for Publishing Online<\/b><\/h2>\n

            Image optimization reduces the size of an image by compressing its content. Before uploading your photos on social media, <\/span>FTP<\/b>, or a website, be sure to turn them into smaller images with less size. You can easily share smaller versions<\/span> of your original images with your friends and family.<\/span><\/p>\n

            1. Visit <\/span>Image Optimizer\u2019s site<\/b>, a free online image optimization service.<\/span>
              \n<\/span><\/li>\n
            2. Click the <\/span>Choose File<\/b> button, locate the image file you wish to optimize and double-click it to upload it.

            5. When the image optimization is over, click the <\/span>Download to your computer button <\/b>to save the image to your computer.
