However, it still has a couple of problems. One of them is being unable to identify duplicate photos, which is what we are out to address today. This article demonstrates how to identify and weed out duplicate photos from <\/span><b>Photos<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> app easily.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><b>Solution<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This guide uses <\/span><b>PictureEcho<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for identifying and removing duplicate photos from the <\/span><b>Windows Photos<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> app. Go through the following steps in order to eradicate all duplicate photos from <\/span><b>Windows Photos<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> app with great ease.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">First of all, the <\/span><b>Photos<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> app itself doesn\u2019t store any photo and it basically shows up as a directory of all the photos stored in another location. The photos stored in these locations are scanned, and presented to the user through its interface. So the first step is identifying the locations where photos are stored. Simply open up the <\/span><b>Photos<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> app and navigate to <\/span><b>Settings<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the <\/span><b>Settings<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> window, locate the <\/span><b>Sources<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (folders from which the <\/span><b>Photos<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> app fetches photos and presents them in it&#8217;s interface). Also, the <\/span><b>Photos<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> section of <\/span><b>OneDrive<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will also show up its data, if the relevant option is turned on. Note down the paths for later usage. One of the easiest ways to copy the paths is clicking on the path, and then copying the address directly from the address bar when it\u2019s opened in <b>File Explorer<\/b>\/ <b>Windows Explorer<\/b>.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pictureecho.com\/download\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">download<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and install <\/span><b>PictureEcho<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the <\/span><b>PictureEcho<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> App, locate the <\/span><b>Add Path<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> button, and click it to add up all the paths which are being used by the <\/span><b>Photos<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> app to fetch images (step # 2).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now choose between <\/span><b>Exact Match<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>Similar Match<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (both of which are sself-explanatory. Selecting an option reflects the outcome by highlighting the appropriate photos in green.
